No.4 An Art Exhibition - 13 Dots
A few days I went to this exhibition of the original copies of the cartoonist of this comic series which I read in my childhood. After decades, the designs aren't a bit outdated. Miss Lee learnt Chinese painting before moving to the world of comics. Her idol was a famous American cartoonist whose fluid, smooth and simple lines were much appreciated and gave her much inspiration.
I learnt from the exhibition that her interests aren't limited to cartoons. Her passion for making stylish wearable clothes, toy houses for her children and other types of formal painting is equally strong. Her creativity is shown in every part of her creations. How admirable!
Today's exercise
No.3 Practice
A friend suggested that I should change the clothes of the characters but I am still at the copying stage copying every stroke of my model comics. Any change may ruin the images. Nevertheless I do hope that I'll be able to 'update' the clothing soon, perhaps in two weeks. It's good to have a friend to read my exercises, which will keep me going on.
Starting from yesterday, I used a ball pen instead of a pencil so that the images look sharper. That means I don't make any draft so I draw very slowly.

No.2 Imitating / Copying "13 Dots"
The copy was bought over 10 years ago. An excellent model for me to imitate or copy before creating my own one.
Will this learning journey last long? I hope so! I hope that my enthusiasm will last forever and that this 'foundation course' will go on until I can master the skills, until I can draw as easily as I write to express my thoughts and feelings.

No.1 Inspiration for drawing
Inspired by an old friend of mine, who drew and WhatsApped a
Christmas greeting card to her friends including me, I decided to take drawing
more seriously hoping to communicate with friends in another medium other than
words.
